I've been spending most of the past hour reading articles about getting fit and sticking with it even when you've met your goals. It seems so easy, I mean, you wear a FitBit or something, decide to hit 10K steps each day, or the majority of the days each week, and with a little attention to what you put in your mouth you're able to reach your goals. Zip, zop, no muss, no fuss. I'm great about the wearing of the FitBit, however I almost NEVER reach my goal of 10K. I mean, really.......I sit in the car (45 minutes in the morning, 120 minutes in the evening), I sit at work (8 hours a day). By the time I get home I am beat and flop on the couch and watch Grey's Anatomy or read a book. That gets me to about 2K steps a day if I'm lucky. Many times I don't break 2K. There is A LOT of room for improvement!
If you've mushed around this little corner of cyberspace, you will have read all about my training plan. How I was going to do an eight week walk/run training plan to get back into shape. Did that ever happen? Um, honestly, not even close. I think I will need to re-commit to that plan again. I think tomorrow when I spend time filling in my planner for the coming week I will need to put in some training walk/runs. I mean, really, if a 5% loss is enough to dramatically decrease many comorbidities, I have to get on this bandwagon!!!!
My FitBit is charging now as we speak. I am going to figure out when and for how long I will be able to walk/run this coming week. I have to take a more active role in turning my life around.
How are you turning your life around? What are some steps you are taking to improve your life? What changes are you implementing? If you care to share I'd love to hear all about them. I am in the market for a life shake-up.
